Run 1/1

I decided to do the Resolution Run at Magnuson park this morning, a 5K starting at 10:30 am. I did it in 26:15, but horribly paced - too fast to be a base training run, and too slow to try to break my 5K personal record (Magnuson is a good place to try doing that as it is flat).

Changing Strength Training

My shoulder is pretty much fully recovered - no pain no matter how I move it. The whole thing was really weird, as I can't think of anything that triggered it. All the same, I'll probably take it easy strength training next week. It's time to add some leg exercises in.

I think my new routine will be:
  • straight arm bar curl
  • chest press
  • lat pulldown
  • ab row
  • leg press
  • leg extension
  • leg curl
  • calf press


I think this will be a minimal but useful routine.

Parents

Well, I told my parents about the LCN plan and websites, and they seem really interested. So, we might get more traffic. Mom has been asking me tons of stuff about triathlons!

Walk 12/27

Yeah, I'd normally not even bother to log this, but it was some minimal exercise. Even if I barely elevated my heart rate.

I got tired of sitting around so I went for a walk from my parent's new house towards the highway. Total time was about 1:15, and I'm not sure of the distance. Maybe four miles total?

My parents bought a house in a Dallas suburb, and the landscape here is a mix between other housing developments, large vacant lots, and the usual stuff near a highway: fast food, stores, apartment complexes.

Sore Shoulder

I must have slept on my left shoulder wrong, because it really aches. As in, stabbing pain when I move my arm in certain directions.

I hope it gets better, otherwise I'll have to explain I somehow messed up my shoulder while visiting my parents, and all we did was drive around and go eat. ;)

I plan to hit the gym on Wednesday when I get back, but if my shoulder is still sore I'll skip it. Or, do leg exercises.
