Run 1/8

I meant to get up to run with my club this morning, but as I looked at planned route, I decided to skip it and run on my own in my neighborhood. This morning's club run was a bit of a drive - out near Snoqualmie Falls, which is about 20 miles away I think? That isn't too bad, the problem is the road there is a windy two-lane road that would take probably 30-40 minutes. So, round trip would be twice that, and I decided to conserve my time and just run right out of my front door.

I did my usual neighborhood loop and added in 10 extra minutes. I'm guessing I ran about 5.5 miles in 1:04, keeping my heart rate low.

Rest 1/7

Yeah, another rest day. I figure it will be easier to do a run and bike tomorrow, instead of bike tonight and run tomorrow, since it is already so late.

Rest 1/6

I meant to get out and run this afternoon, but I ate lunch late and by the time I was ready to run, it was dark so the Redmond Watershed was closed. I decided to take a day off and run tomorrow.

I haven't been running much which is bad considering I have a half-marathon next week! Well, I should be able to get two good runs in before then, and then be able to finish the event. I'm not really worried about time as I really should not run it at a high heart rate. It's tough though, in an event I get excited and want to press the pace. I'll need a lot of willpower to force myself to stay under 70% of max HR. This should correspond to a finishing time around 2:10 to 2:15.

NetAthlon

I subscribe to a CompuTrainer user's mailing list, and a new product by FitCentric was mentioned - NetAthlon. This program basically lets you ride with other CompuTrainer users... over the internet!

I'll have to check it out. Of course, I haven't yet hooked up my CT to the computer to try out the 3D software. I should probably do that first!

Bike 1/5

45 minutes at high cadence in the 39x17, while watching Alias.

I called the pool and it seems they don't know when the heater will be fixed! Ah, well, I'll sub in bike workouts for swim workouts.

I also need to check with the GB plan, I've just been winging it.

Almost swim 1/4

I drove over to the pool a few minutes late (I like to get there when it opens for the midday swim) only to find it was closed because the heater was broken! I guess I'll call before trying again this week.

Bike 1/3

Today was also sunny and clear, with no clouds. That of course meant is was a bit chilly - 47 degrees F according to my bike computer.

I road from home down to the Sammamish River trail, over to 520, and then climbed along 520 to Old Redmond Road up to 132nd Ave, back to home. In other words, this loop.

It is about 10.7 miles in 50 minutes. My bike computer didn't keep time properly, so I'm just estimating the time. By the end of the ride, my toes were frozen! Next time I'll wear my bike shoe covers like I did yesterday.

Bike 1/2

I met with T1 and T2 for a bike ride in the early afternoon. It was sunny but chilly. We rode from T2's along the Burke-Gilman trail to T1's, back along the trail towards Bothell, and then turned around back to T2's. Basically, a T-shaped path.

My bike computer reported 10.0 miles in 45:42.
